Forest Hill Elementary School

English Language Advisory Committee

Please join us for our first ELAC meeting this Friday, October 22nd @ 8:30 AM.

Parents of  English Learners (ELs) have an opportunity to be a part of our English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC). This is a committee for parents of children identified as English Learners. The committee meets 4 times a year and serves to provide input on programs and services for English Learners to the Schools and Governing Board.

Our English Learners (ELs) receive the same engaging and rigorous Common Core curriculum as their classmates—with additional language-based support—so that they are ultimately successful in school and fluent in English.

All of our teachers use English Language Development (ELD) Standards along with the Common Core Standards and the California State Standards to give English Learners what they need to develop language and reach grade-level standards.

At Forest Hill, we will be hosting our own meeting on Friday, October 22nd via zoom starting at 8:30 AM.  We hope that you can join us this Friday so that you can meet other parents as well as learn what ELAC is. In addition, we are hoping to have a parent representative attend the District’s meetings and come back and report what you learned to our school’s ELAC meeting. If you are interested, please reach out to Mrs. Chitwood at achitwood [at] campbellusd.org.
