SSC Ballots
It is time to vote for this year's School Site Council Representatives!

The purpose of the School Site Council (SSC) is to develop and approve in partnership with the school staff, the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Due to COVID-19, this year we have the Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan to approve, as well. Members have an obligation to make decisions that will best serve all children within the whole school community. The SSC constantly is reviewing the content of the plan in relation to school goals to foster student achievement. The cycle requires continuous reflection of the goals and programs operated at the school based on verifiable data. Funding from the state is budgeted through SSC so it aligns with the school plan.
SSC is composed of 50% school staff and 50% of parents/community members who serve for a term of two years. SSC normally meets 4 times a year while school is in session.
For the 2020-2021 school year, we have three (3) voting parent/community openings and three nominations. All you have to do is indicate a Yes or a No for all three candidates.
Link to Ballot- The deadline to vote is Monday, August 17th by 6:00 PM.

Please read statements from the candidates who were nominated:
Loretta Berg:
I have had two children attend school at Forest Hill, including preschool, for the last six years. Up through 4th grade, I have volunteered in their classrooms which has been very rewarding. I enjoy assisting the teachers, staff, and getting to know my children's classmates. Yard duty during lunchtime has also been a great way to give back to Forest Hill. I am happy to assist in whatever way I can.
Trevor Bryden:
After teaching for 15 years, primarily at Stratford Elementary School and Carden Day School as a STEM (computer science) teacher, I started a small company to teach artificial intelligence principles to middle school kids. During the coronavirus shutdown, the business has been paused...perhaps forever. I am currently a Site Director for the wonderful Steve and Kate's organization. I have four children, two girls and two boys, including Jack, a first-grader at Forest Hill. I have long been involved in school site planning and accreditation, and would very much like to lend whatever experience and insight I can offer to the Forest Hill’s community.
Richard Wong:
I’ve been a proud Forest Hill dad since 2018. I am passionate about meeting young learners where they’re at and encouraging them to take another step further, whether that’s in their educational, social-emotional, or recreational needs. I have enjoyed supporting the hard-working staff and students as a Room Parent, Cornerstone Reader, Yard Duty, Library helper, Planet Falcon team leader, and in working at our PTA fairs, fundraisers and family-night events. Every student is talented, sensitive, and brilliant in their own unique way and I look forward to building a safe, creative environment where all can flourish and be happy.
