Forest Hill Elementary School

Forest Hill “Facelift” Begins February 21st.

Phase 1 of construction and campus beautification will extend through summer and next school year.

We are thrilled to announce that Phase 1 of constructing our brand new administration building and site modernization will begin on Monday, February 21, 2022.

During the February Break and through the summer months, the old knowledge center will be converted into a beautiful new building for our main office, staff workroom, and much needed office space for our school psychologist and behaviorists. In June, the outdoor eating area for students will be remodeled and beautified. At a future date, the current administration building and cafeteria will be transformed into a beautiful new multi purpose space.

Safety First!

In order to maintain safety while school is in session, we want our community to be aware of a few changes to parking, drop-off and pick-up:

  • Impacts to parking and traffic flow. We will not have access to the small side parking lot or the bus circle for the next few months. Traffic on our current drop-off circle will be impacted.

  • Gate change for some students. Students that are currently using Gate 1 will need to use the side gates instead.

  • Allow more time for drop off and pick up. When we return from the February Break, these high-volume times are likely to be longer, and we ask that our families work with us to minimize the impacts as much as possible.

Here are are few ideas that may help keep everyone safe during peak traffic times:

  • If you typically use the drop off circle, consider arriving early and parking down the street to walk students to campus (please remember there is no school parking in the church parking lot next door).

  • Arrive at school a few minutes earlier than normal.

  • Arrange a carpool with a neighbor so that fewer cars need to come to campus.

  • Start walking to school if possible. It’s possible that your neighborhood could organize a “walking school bus” where students are picked up from houses along the way.

  • Remind your child about safe practices when walking to or from school.

Other ideas are welcome for consideration. I know that our creative and resourceful Forest Hill Family can manage a few growing pains as we look ahead to the freshly remodeled areas of our campus.
