Congratulations People of the Year!

Forest Hill congratulates our Teacher, Classified Employee, and Volunteer of the year!

We had the privilege of celebrating Forest Hill's people of the year last week during a recognition ceremony at Sherman Oaks school. Congratulations to:

• Patrice McNeal, our Teacher of the Year. Ms. Patrice's classroom is one of those special places where as soon as you walk in, you can just feel the warmth and happiness that she creates. Anyone who visits her classroom mentions this, as well as the fact that she has very high expectations for her students. She never says her students can’t do something or won’t be able to do it. Ms. Patrice is an amazing example of a student-focused, growth mindset teacher who proves her kids can do their best and beyond.

• Maryam Nemazie, our Volunteer of the Year. This is Maryam’s second year as a parent and volunteer at Forest Hill. In that short amount of time, she has jumped in and made herself a vital part of our parent community. She helps organize and takes part in so many activities, it’s incredible, and she does it all with a genuine smile.

• Jackie Morris, our Classified Employee of the Year, and also CUSD's District Classified Employee of the Year! Jackie couldn't make it to the ceremony, but we took the opportunity to celebrate her regardless. As admin assistant, Jackie is in charge of such things as keeping track of the budget, answering phone calls, keeping the calendar up to date, and much more. And while Jackie is an expert at all of those parts of her job, that’s not the reason she is so special.  It’s the way she treats everyone as family and gives her heart to our community that we will miss the most when she retires. It’s the way she greets children with warm hugs, it’s the way she remembers what’s going on with you and asks how things are going, and it’s the way she makes you feel like you matter that makes her special. 

Congratulations to all three of these special people! We are so grateful for all you do and for how you make Forest Hill an even better place to be.
