Thank you for the generous support of our Fabulous Forest Hill community. Our Adopt-a-Family Gift Card drive was a huge success. With open hearts and hands, we reached out and helped some of our families have a warm, happy, holiday season. Thanks also to the Forest Hill students and families who filled 8 barrels for the Second Harvest Food Bank! This gracious outpouring is what respect, responsibility, safety, and caring for others is all about.

With the Holidays right around the corner, it is time to think of this as the “season of giving.” We are collecting gift cards to local businesses (Target, Safeway, Nob Hill, Wal-Mart, etc.) for Forest Hill families in need. All donations will go directly to our students. With open hearts and hands, we can truly make this a season of giving. Thank you for your support!

Today marks the start of Computer Science Education Week!  Highlights of this week are the Hour of Code activities. These activities are an introduction to computer science and are designed to demystify "coding" and show that anyone can learn the basics to be a maker, creator, and an innovator.  The activities provide a variety of self-guided tutorials that anybody can do....on a browser, tablet, or smartphone!
Below is a link to these activities.  While many teachers may spend some time doing activities in class, we invite you to spend time with your child(ren) doing some of the activities at home! When you click on the link below, you will be taken to the start page.  On the left of this page, you can use the filter to narrow choices based on grade level, experience, and type of device. It will then give you suggestions of things to try.
Hope you have some fun with this!   Here is the link:  https://csedweek.org/learn

To help promote more walkers to school you may want to consider the following gift ideas this holiday season. Please note, we had 400 students walk to school in October when we had a school-wide focus day. I’d love to see more students walking and less cars everyday!

  • Bike Helmet
  • Scooter
  • Bike
  • Skates
  • Skateboard
  • Pedometer (kids love to track their steps)
