Second Grade Dirt Detectives

Second graders in Mrs. Hill's class got to be life scientists this week.

During a Living Classroom lesson, students studied compost, made predictions about what would be in it. They wrote down their observations. Our scientists used a variety of tools to  look at organic material. Most saw small twigs, leaves, worms, sow bugs, and rollie pollies. Students were so enthusiastic and engaged that Mrs. Hill might have created some future biologists!
