Once again, our students showed their amazing talents this past Friday at our annual Talent Show. Students sang, danced, played instruments and displayed their marital arts abilities. The evening was a blast! I appreciate the hard work our coordinator Alicia Martinez and her family put into this event. We also had many parent volunteers helping to ensure the event was a success. It was truly a dynamic event. Also, a big thank you to Westgate Church for hosting our event.
School News
We greatly appreciate the support our Forest Hill families have provided to local charities. We donated 112 lunches last week to the Santa Maria Urban Ministries. We also gave a monetary donation of $825 dollars to Cooper's Dream Rescue through our collection of Pennies for Puppies. Faith's family was able to match our donation, so the entire total is over $1,600 for this organization. The Forest Hill community is doing so much to build Developmental Assets in our children.

How talented are Forest Hill students? Come find out!

We have many positions opening for next year’s PTA board. PTA programs and events cannot happen without your help!

If you’re interested or have questions, please contact us at president [at] foresthillpta.com. Board elections will take place at the April 12th PTA meeting at 8:15am.
We are no longer collecting Capri Suns.
- We are now recycling foil-lined bar wrappers (from any brand of granola or energy bar), and snack pouches (GoGo Squeez applesauce or similar, with plastic twist caps). Look for the new orange and green signs on the bins outside the cafeteria.
- The PTA has also partnered with Planet Green Recycle to recycle empty inkjet cartridges and unwanted small electronics (cell phones, iPods, video games, etc. - working or not). The collection bin is located in the main office. Each item contributed will stay out of the landfill and generate funds for PTA programs.

We have big issues going on at and around our campus. Please ensure you are following the legal requirements when driving your child to school.
- Cars can't be lined up on McCoy Ave. Tickets are being issued for stopping the flow of traffic.
- When parking on McCoy, please don't block homeowners' driveways. Tow trucks have been called to remove cars.
- When leaving the main loop, all cars must turn right.
- The main loop is a 3 minute only zone. If you are waiting longer than 3 minutes you can be ticketed.
- Parking is very limited at Forest Hill. We have 90 staff members. Please save the few parking spots we have for our staff.
- We have a new crossing guard on the corner on McCoy and Harriett.
- We need more students walking to school. This will help with the congestion on McCoy.
Let's kick of 2017 with a healthy start! The following class is offered by the Pediatric Health Learning Center. I hope you can attend! This is our final class for this school year. All are welcome to attend, even if you didn't make it to the other classes.
The 5 Keys class will begin at 2/10/2017 8:15 AM. This Friday!
Should I make my child eat vegetables? Do you think that your child is a picky eater?
If you use the Summerfield Drive walking path, please contact Mrs. Khalid. I have a few questions to ask you.

San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail Project
Place: City of Campbell, City Hall
Date/Time: February 1 (Wednesday), 2017, at 7:30p.m.
The project is currently in the feasibility study and conceptual design phases. The goal of the project is to create a passive trail along San Tomas Aquino Creek from Westmont Avenue to Virginia Avenue that provides pedestrian and bicycle connections from residential areas to local schools and parks.
At this meeting, the Parks and Recreation Commission will be presented with the information gathered from the two previous neighborhood meetings that took place in 2016. The public is invited to attend.
