Kindergarten has had 10 art lessons so far. We started with hearts filled with line for our Square One project. Next we learned about the artist Piet Mondrian, geometric shapes and straight lines and made a collage. Next our focus was curved lines and spirals and we drew and painted like the artist/architect Hundertwasser. We used line and shape to make colorful sugar skull drawings for Dia de Los Muertos. We drew turkeys and painted them with warm colors. Next we did a city collage using geometric shapes then we learned about organic shapes and did a collage in the style of Henri Matisse. We used line to draw winter trees and did a watercolor resist with the cool colors. We then made cardinals after reading the book No Two Alike and seeing the work of illustrator Charlie Harper. Tuesday’s class painted gingerbread houses. ~Mrs. Hardt

During the last winter storm, we had two significantly large branches fall off the eucalyptus trees in the picnic bench area. To ensure safety for all, these two trees will need to be removed in the month of December. A covered structure will be installed to provide proper shade protection for our students while they eat. If you have any questions, please contact Denise Khalid atdkhalid [at] campbellusd.org.

This November, the Great Thanksgiving Listen will take place in living rooms and kitchens across the country — students can add their voice to the Library of Congress and take part in our national effort to collect the stories of a generation by recording an interview with a loved one.

Adobe is partnering with StoryCorps to help bring student stories to life with impactful images and other visual storytelling elements. Highlight special moments in the interview with free tools like Spark Post, Spark Page, and Spark Video.
