Forest Hill Elementary School

Welcome Back Letter

Welcome to the new school year at Fabulous Forest Hill! I sincerely hope you are still enjoying the summer and finding time to relax with your family and friends. The first day of school is right around the corner! We look forward to greeting old friends and making new ones, using our minds for exciting thinking and learning, and opening our hearts to support and care for one another. Forest Hill is a great place to be each day. 2018-2019 will be a fantastic year as we continue to build a positive, safe, consistent, predictable school culture filled with Respect, Responsibility and Safety. Below please find pertinent information to help ensure a smooth start to our year.

 Class Assignments:

Tentative classroom assignments will be posted in the front office window on Tuesday, August 21st at 4:00 PM. Please remember that these assignments remain tentative until enrollment stabilizes, a process that often takes a few weeks. We do our best to minimize any changes, but must accommodate incoming students to our school. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. To find out your child’s class assignment, you will need your child’s Student ID number.

The left lane is for exiting the area when necessary. There is no parking in the circle. Parents, please stay in your car. In the morning, have the students ready with backpacks, etc. to step out quickly once you pull all the way forward. During the morning and afternoon rush, make a right turn only onto McCoy.  It is vital that cars carefully enter and exit this area.

This is now available on the school website, http://foresthill.campbellusd.org/ under Student Handbook.  Please take time to read it with your child as it contains important information about Forest Hill and our expectations.

Hot lunch is offered in the cafeteria. Full price is $3.50; reduced price is 40 cents, and milk costs 50 cents. An application for free or reduced lunch is included in your first day packet (must be completed each year).

 Dress Code:

We strictly enforce the dress code. Students need to dress respectfully for school and avoid flips flops, wheelie shoes, high heels, spaghetti straps, short shorts and skirts, and super baggy pants.

 Friday Folders:

Clear communication between the school and home is crucial to the academic success of each student. Every Friday, we send home a white envelope, known as the Friday Folder, which includes important district, school, teacher, and PTA information. Please read this information carefully in order to familiarize yourself with school activities, opportunities, and educational practices. Sign and return the envelope to school on Monday morning.
