5th Grade Art Program Highlights

Fifth Grade has finished 4 projects. We started the year with patterned fish for the Square One fundraiser. Next we learned about radial symmetry and drew trees filled with pattern, some radial. Our last two projects focused on the art of the American artist Alexander Calder. First we painted abstract paintings after looking at his artwork. Next we made a “stabile” using card stock after looking at his mobiles and stabiles. Here the student’s engineering as well as artistic skills were used. ~ Mrs. Hardt
