1st Grade Art Program Highlights

First Grade has done 7 lessons so far. We started with owls for the Square One fundraiser. Next we read The Beautiful Oops and made oops art. Then we focused on different types of line and made an abstract line painting. After that we made three dimensional line sculptures where the students had to use their engineering as well as artistic skills. We then focused on color and mixed colors to make fall trees. Next we studied one of Kandinsky’s paintings to create an abstract oil pastel drawing using circles in different color combinations, we also made a group piece. Our last project used texture to make Starry Night Paintings with collage like Vincent Van Gogh. ~Mrs. Hardt
