Amanda Haughs Recognized Nationally As A Digital Innovator June 8, 2015 - 12:22pm

Amanda Haughs, fifth grade teacher and technology integration coach at Forest Hill, is being honored as A Digital Innovator by the PBS Learning Media Center. Out of the thousands of applicants from around the nation, Amanda was selected as one of the top 30 digital innovators. According to PBS, “she overwhelmingly demonstrated passion for integrating digital media and technology in the classroom."

Shreya Ghoshal (2nd grade) and Jacob Orton (Kindergarten) had their artwork chosen for the Santa Clara County Office of Education’s Young Artist Showcase. They will be honored on Tuesday, May 26 at the County Office. Thank you to our generous PTA for supporting our fine arts program!

Healthcare Insurance Enrollment Event, May 14, 2015 June 8, 2015 - 12:35pm

You can enroll your children in Medi-Cal or Healthy Kids healthcare insurance programs for children on Thursday, May 14th, from 9:00 – 11:00 am at the Blackford Elementary School Family Resource Center, 1970 Willow Street in San Jose.

Please bring proof of address, proof of income and birth certificates for the children. Bring social security cards for the children if available.

Forest Hill Girls On The Run June 8, 2015 - 12:35pm

The Girls on the Run Shoe Drive is coming soon! The money raised from these donations will go towards teaching families in Ghana farming skills (MORE Foundation) and educating and feeding kids in Liberia (VisionTrust). We’ll have a bin for athletic shoes and one for non-athletic shoes outside the main office from May 7-13. Gently used shoes are preferred but we will take any condition. Thank you for supporting the GOTR Community Impact Project!

We greatly appreciate the kind words and requests to help Mrs. Lee and her family. Attention 4th Graders June 8, 2015 - 12:38pm

We are asking our fourth grade students to help design next year’s PBIS t-shirt. Your design will need to represent our school. Please include a Falcon in your design. You must stay within a 9” by 10” box. Please use only black pen in your design. Please submit your designs by May 22nd.

National River Clean Up June 8, 2015 - 12:39pm

Saturday, May 16th is National River Clean Up day. Forest Hill has adopted a section of San Tomas Creek that runs behind the school. Families interested in helping to clean up the creek may meet at the gate behind the softball fields between 9 and 9:30. The event will end by 11:30. Please wear sturdy closed toe shoes and pants are recommended. Gloves and water will be provided, but you may also bring your own. Event coordinators are Brian Pirkl, Thuy Crecelius, and Mrs. Kostlan.
