Summer Learning:  June 1 – July 31

Summertime is just around the corner and that means Summer Learning will be starting at San José Public Library locations! It’s time to grab a book (or several), read, share your story, and win prizes! Pre-readers (ages 0-5 y.o.) will receive a free book after reading four books and win a second free book upon completing the program by reading a total of eight books. Individual reports of students' CAASPP results will be available electronically.

This spring, our students in grades three through eight participated in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). In our district, the test results are just one way that we determine how well our students are doing. We use the results to find areas where students are doing well and those in which they need added support.

Depending on grade level, a student would have taken the following test(s):

Lunch will be free of charge at three CUSD schools this summer.

To meet the nutritional needs of children whose families may be vulnerable to hunger, Campbell Union School District will provide nutritious meals, free of charge, at three schools. As a part of the U.S. Seamless Summer Feeding Program, all children from 2 to 18 years old can come eat lunch for free. All children in the community are welcome, regardless of which school or preschool they attend.

We are proud to announce Forest Hill Elementary School's 2nd Grade students have secured Second Place National Winners at National Geography Challenge hosted by The National Council of Geographic Education in coalition with CML (Continental Math League).

Forest Hill PTA (STEM) conducted the National Geography Challenge to all grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade and each and every one of our students have done so well on the test.  Congratulations to all our 2nd Grade participants, we are very proud of you for being National Winners!
