Hawk High Intensity Activated Crosswalk

HOW THE HAWK WORKS DRIVERS SEE THIS PEDESTRIANS SEE THIS DO THIS DO THIS 1. Black or Dark" When not in use, the HAWK will remain "black or dark" DRIVE until activated by a pedestrian. Drivers proceed without stopping and look for pedestrians. A Raised Hand (DON'T WALK) is displayed at the crosswalk. DON'T WALK Always look for pedestrians & proceed with caution. 2. Flashing Yellow" When the button is pressed, the HAWK will flash yellow to alert drivers that a pedestrian is waiting to enter crosswalk. The pedestrians will see a Raised Hand symbol indicating DON'T WALK. PUSH THE BUTTON SLOW DOWN A pedestrian has activated the push button. 3. "Solid Yellow" Advising drivers to prepare to stop prior to the crosswalk as the pedestrian continues to WAIT to PREPARE TO STOP & WAIT for the WALK signal. STOP cross. 4. "Solid Red" Two red balls side-by- side requiring drivers to come to a complete stop while pedestrians will be given a Walking Person indication (WALK). STOP! * START CROSSING Do Not Proceed pedestrian in crosswalk. Always watch for cars. 5. Flashing Red"- As pedestrians complete crossing with a Flashing Hand symbol and countdown timer; vehicles must continue to stop for the flashing red lights and may proceed only if the crosswalk is clear. STOP FIRST FINISH CROSSING 10 But do not start crossing & remain alert. If no pedestrians are present, proceed with caution.
